Selected Silesian Sonnets

Selected Silesian Sonnets is a bilingual literary journey through Southern Poland.

Written while Vitor Vicente was year living in Silesia, these poems explore Kraków, Katowice, Auschwitz, borderlands, trains, memory, exile, love and belonging.

Originally published in Portuguese as Sonetos nem sempre Silesianos (2016), this English selection brings together some of the strongest poems from the collection for an international audience.

Through personal observation and cultural reflection, Vicente transforms everyday places and encounters into meditations on history, identity and the European experience.
