CEI County Pairings: Will words ever save the world?

They may. And that’s a massive mission.

As Ring of Culture passes its first anniversary, we are willing to take that mission on. Starting with Europe, its writers, and our remarkable literary and cultural heritage. We have plenty to be proud of. And plenty to talk about.

CEI County Pairings is our series of literary events in Ireland, bringing Irish counties into conversation with European nations. Wicklow meets Spain. Dublin meets Greece. Offaly meets Belgium. Louth meets Portugal.

We will gather in public venues and chat. About books, culture, and the things that connect us. And we invite you to take part, whether in person or via livestream. Our continent will be engaged.

Each event pairs an Irish writer—or a writer who has made Ireland their home—with a guest writer from another European nation. Different backgrounds, one single European ethos.

Always moderated by a travel writer with a twist: Vitor Vicente, founder of Ring of Culture and based in the Emerald Isle for a decade.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll introduce the writers and share the dates, venues, and details. Follow Ring of Culture on social media and visit our website to find an event near you.

Come along. Bring your curiosity. And perhaps a question worth asking.
