An International Anthology invites writers to explore love through Jewish life, culture, memory and imagination.

We welcome work about romantic, familial, communal, spiritual, cultural and intergenerational love, as well as friendship, belonging, memory, tradition, loss and reconciliation.

The anthology is organised and published by Ring of Culture in connection with the 2026 European Days of Jewish Culture theme, LOVE.

Who Can Submit?

Submissions are open worldwide to writers aged 18 or over. Writers of all backgrounds are welcome, provided their work engages meaningfully and respectfully with the anthology’s theme and Jewish context.

Work must be submitted in English. Translations are welcome if the entrant holds the necessary translation and publication rights.

Categories and Length

Each paid entry may contain:

• Up to three poems, with a maximum of 60 lines per poem

• One short story of up to 2,000 words

• One personal essay of up to 2,000 words

• One memoir piece of up to 2,000 words

Writers may enter more than once, but each entry requires a separate submission form and fee.

Dates and Fees

Submissions open on 6 September 2026 and close at 11:59 p.m. Irish time on 15 November 2026.

• Early-bird entry fee: €8 until 31 October 2026

• Standard entry fee: €10 from 1 November 2026

An entry is complete only when the submission form and payment have both been received.

How to Submit

Complete the official online form and upload your work as one .doc, .docx or .pdf file of no more than 15 MB.

Include the title in the manuscript, but do not include your biography in the uploaded document. Enter a biography of no more than 100 words in the relevant form field.

Originality

Submissions must be the entrant’s original and previously unpublished work.

Work substantially generated by artificial intelligence will not be accepted. Ordinary spelling and grammar tools may be used, but the submitted work must remain the named author’s own creative expression.

Selection and Publication

Submissions will be assessed on literary quality, originality, relevance to the theme, impact and suitability for the anthology.

Selected contributors will be contacted by 15 January 2027. Submission does not guarantee selection, and Ring of Culture’s editorial decisions are final.

Ring of Culture expects to select approximately 20 contributors. The final number may vary depending on the quality, length and editorial balance of the submissions received.

Selected work will be published in paperback and ebook editions. Contributors will receive one complimentary ebook and a discount on paperback copies. They may also be invited to participate in readings, interviews or related cultural events.

No individual royalties will be paid. Income will support the editing, design, production, distribution and promotion of the anthology and related cultural activity.

Copyright

Copyright remains with each contributor.

Selected contributors grant Ring of Culture the non-exclusive right to edit, publish, distribute and promote their work as part of the anthology. Any substantive editorial changes will be agreed with the contributor. Ring of Culture may make minor corrections to spelling, punctuation, grammar and house style.

Fees and Refunds

Entry fees are non-refundable once a valid submission has been received, except if Ring of Culture cancels the open call. Fees will not be refunded because an entry is not selected, is withdrawn or fails to follow these guidelines.
